How I Won the War

This absurdist comedy focuses on the misadventures of a fictional regiment of British soldiers, commanded by the inept Lieutenant Earnest Goodbody (Michael Crawford), during WWII. How I Won the War (1967) follows soldiers in the unit such as Musketeer Gripweed (John Lennon) as Goodbody’s blunders lead to their gradual demise.

Directed by Richard Lester, based on a novel by Patrick Ryan.
