What happened to Neal Gabler after the BEDAZZLED screening? He stated that after BEDAZZLED, Moore went Hollywood, Cook let Stanley Donen convince him that he was the next Cary Grant, and the comedy team never made another movie together. In fact, Cook & Moore followed 1967’s BEDAZZLED by joining the ensemble comedy casts of THE BED SITTING ROOM and THOSE DARING YOUNG MEN IN THEIR JAUNTY JALOPIES (aka MONTE CARLO OR BUST), both in 1969. They also starred together in a comic version of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES in 1978, then brought their 20 year partnership to an agreed-upon end by recording their final comedy album DEREK & CLIVE GET THE HORN, which was filmed by director Russel Mulcahy as a feature documentary. So BEDAZZLED was hardly the team’s final collaboration.
