One of the last vestiges of Corona's Italian glory exists on 52-02 108th Street at the Lemon Ice King of Corona. In 1944, Peter Benfaremo started selling ices in Corona with only two flavors. Sixty years later, the Lemon Ice King still operates and now offers 35 homemade flavors every day. The shop is a Queen's institution with people traveling from around the tri-state area to delight in ices on a hot summer's day.
