Rice: U.S. still ‘critical player’ in Mideast resolution

National Security Advisor Susan Rice joins Hari Sreenivasan to discuss the prospect of a 12-hour humanitarian pause in the battle between Israel and Gaza, obstacles to achieving a cease-fire and the sway that the U.S. still holds in Mideast diplomacy. Rice also addresses evidence of Moscow’s interference in Ukraine, as well as the potential of engaging in a proxy-war with Russia.

Why are you asking if torture is effective? Is rape effective? Is murder effective? If torture is immoral and illegal it is WRONG!! Regardless if it is effective.

Did Judy Woodruff just say 1/28/15 George Bush called Iran part of an axis of evil? Wasn’t it Reagan?

      • ssivonda

Bush 2 ….he said it, and with his record as we know it now, Iran has been one of 7 Mid-East countries in 5 years which the Neocons wanted to topple.

I’ve minutes ago watched Judy interview several people on the subject of Iran…and the lifting of sanctions. I found it interesting that her career has started around the time just prior to the Shah being forced out . The Shah was a puppet leader put in Iran by the US and the citizens eventually revolted. They all knew what the US reasons were for doing that, and they hated us. Fast forward to today and there is a modern society population there, and very little of the old guard from post revolution. Dermer tonight paints Iran as a pariah in the Mid -East…as he is a Neocon and in Israel’s pocket. We should not squander an opportunity to invite the Iranians to be a good citizen of the world.
