9-11 New York Spirituality Revisited
Feature, Original Broadcast Date: September 5, 2003 (Show #701):
In the coming week, as the nation plans special tributes to 9-11, New York City will commemorate the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with moments of silence, a brief return of the "Tribute in Light" and a reading of the victims' names by children. But with memories still fresh of the tragedy that took the lives of nearly 2,800 victims, how can the people of New York find the right balance between remembrance and moving on? Kim Lawton talks with Minister Daniel Paul Matthews of Trinity/St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, Congregation Mount Sinai, Imam Siraj Wahhaj from the Masjid Al-Taqwa, about the continuing spiritual impact of 9-11 on people's lives and how they are dealing with their fears and anxiety through faith.
