Thirteen/WNET's 2008 New York Emmy Wins
April 7, 2008 -- Thirteen/WNET snagged three New York Emmy Awards at last night's ceremony.
New York Voices, the station's weekly newsmagazine, won Best Magazine Program, besting the competitive field. Created in the wake of September 11, each episode of the contains strong, character-driven stories about real New Yorkers, as well as intelligent conversation with authorities, on a diverse array of topics which uncover the many connections that lie at the heart of city life. New York Voices airs Tuesday nights at 10:30 p.m. on Thirteen.
Other winners include Lynn Redgrave as Best On-Camera Talent: Program Host/Moderator for her work with Thirteen Setting the Stage, an arts and interview special, and Keeping Kids Healthy -- Friedreich's Ataxia: Living Life "Pretty Well" won for Best Health/Science: Program/Special.
