The Community Advisory Boards of Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21 are inviting nominations of not-for-profits into their Community Hall of Fame. The New York public television stations' Community Advisory Boards will be conferring the honor to recognize exemplary efforts in the fields of the arts, culture, education, and social concerns that are related to the stations' programming and/or to the stations' mission educate, enlighten, and inform. Inductees will be honored with a trophy, their names added to a commemorative plaque in the broadcast studio's main lobby, and selected inductees will be featured on the stations' broadcast air.
The 2005/2006 inductees _ Camp Care, Inc.; Center for Food Action in New Jersey; Cool Culture; CENYC (Council on the Environment of New York); The Doe Fund; Eviction Intervention Services; InterSchool Orchestras of New York; Rock and Wrap It Up! and Founder Syd Mandelbaum; Northside Center for Child Development; and Help Darfur Now and Founders Eric and David Messinger and Arielle Wistosky.
The Community Advisory Boards of Thirteen and WLIW21, comprised of members reflective of the diverse interests and needs of the tri-state region, collaborate with the stations to expand the reach of their programming, educational activities, and outreach initiatives.
