Herb Homes

Herb Homes came to THIRTEEN in 1965 from the TV division of MGM to assume the position of Director of Production Services. He supervised the station’s staff directors, associate directors, and stage managers, and was also responsible for supervising the art department, two television studios, and the stagehands and lighting directors assigned to each. As the station and budgets increased, someone needed to work and negotiate with the unions that represented the actors, musicians, directors, artists, writers, and other who contributed to the production of THIRTEEN’s programs. Herb became the Director of Labor Relations, where he remained until his retirement in 2006.
