The Nutcracker

In 1954, many people thought George Balanchine's "Nutcracker" got off on the wrong foot. It was massively over budget and many people thought it would bankrupt the New York City Ballet. But Balanchine's bet paid off. Fifty years later, it's a New York City tradition.
