Artistic Revival
Last summer, amidst some controversy, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation selected four cultural institutions to turn ground zero into a center for the arts: the Joyce International Dance Center, the Freedom Center, the Signature Theatre, and the Drawing Center.
On the third anniversary of the World Trade Center attack, Rafael Pi Roman met with the directors of these four institions to find out more about their histories and missions, and to discuss what they will bring to the artistic and cultural life of lower Manhattan.
