Saving Soccer Tacos
A 33-year-old tradition may soon be ending. The Latin American food vendors of Red Hook Park have become a fixture at the soccer fields that attract thousands of people each weekend. A new permitting process and increased attention from the health department has prompted fear amongst vendors that the City may just shut them down in the spring, which would leave hungry patrons without the huaraches and tacos they love, and the vendors without the business on which they have come to depend.
