1.Not to take the horror from our people in the fronts. There was a group that protected our coastal area and American possessions. My husband, now deceased, was 18 years old and sent to Panama. He told me many things about his stay there. He also spent time on the Galapogos. I also have a brother-in-law who went to Greenland and Japan.
2.My sister in law (now deceased) was evacuated from Pearl Harbor a day after her appendectomy. I'm sure there were many areas that 'protected' us and very little in history.
