Jim Paymar interviews Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin, a native Long Islander who grew up in Rockville Center and graduated from South Side High School. Goodwin shares how growing up on Long Island influenced her best-selling memoir “Wait Till Next Year” and ignited her passion for American political history; her book “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” became the basis for Steven Spielberg’s 2012 Academy Award-winning film “Lincoln.” She also details her experiences while penning her next book, “The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism.”
