Long Island Business Report anchor Jim Paymar visits Long Beach, a city on the South Shore of Long Island, where Hurricane Sandy flood surges wiped out power and homes. Residents there seek shelter at Red Cross facilities and rely on assistance from the National Guard, but they plan on rebuilding their beloved community of  “Strong Beach.”

Great visuals, superior reporting… Jim Paymar can’t do anything but great reporting. The scenes are just tragic.

Great coverage, Jim. It is so sad what these people are going through. People have to take climate change seriously and work to solve the problem or it will happen again.

Even from across the country, I was able to personalize and better understand how a natural disaster like this effects people’s lives. I always think that this understanding is particularly important in earthquake country here in California, but I am learning that it is important for a much wider part of the country than I ever dreamed.
