Coney Island Church as Anchor of Storm Relief

Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism students Jon Gerberg and Kristen Reed report from the Coney Island Gospel Assembly Church, where volunteers are working to combat the lack of electricity, heat and running water in the area.

Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism Jon Gerberg and Kristen Reed report on the coordinated volunteer efforts in the western section of Coney Island. They visit the Coney Island Gospel Assembly Church, which has partnered with the city, the Red Cross and volunteers from Occupy Sandy volunteers to help gather supplies and distribute them as well as services to residents whose homes have been flooded or live in high rises without heat, electricity or hot water.
