The September broadcast of MetroFocus premieres on WLIW21 on Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m., THIRTEEN on Sept. 20 at 8:30 p.m. and NJTV on Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.

On the next MetroFocus: Are illegal guns the cause of gun violence in New York? An interview with the man who dedicated much of his career to Central Park’s transformation, former Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe. Israel’s Consul General explains why more New Yorkers are moving to that country. New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and his co-author and wife Sheryl WuDunn speak about their upcoming PBS documentary “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity,” which focuses on ending violence against women and girls. And a very special visit to a summer academy for refugee children.
