‘MetroFocus: The Tech Economy’ Preview
“MetroFocus: The Tech Economy” premieres on June 26 at 10:30 p.m. on WLIW21; June 27 10:30 p.m. on NJTV; and June 28 at 8:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN.
Will New York City’s highly publicized campaign to take on Silicon Valley make it the leader in the new Tech Economy? “MetroFocus: The Tech Economy” examines this booming business and its future.
Highlights include a look inside the offices of Internet giant Google, start-up success story Tumblr, an interview with Seth Pinsky, head of New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, and a special report from The New York Times on the East vs. West competition. MetroFocus also visits a Bronx-based non-profit that is bridging the ”digital divide” with job training for entry level jobs, highlights Albany’s nanotechnology center, travels back to a different era when New Jersey’s Bell Labs led the world in tech innovation, and looks ahead at tech’s future during the World Science Festival.
