Extended interview with New York City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott, who’s in charge of the country’s largest public school system.

In charge of the country’s largest public school system, Dennis Walcott has helped avert over 4,100 teacher layoffs, handled the controversial release of teacher evaluations and more recently took a victory lap around his push to improve the city’s middle schools. MetroFocus host Rafael Pi Roman asked the chancellor about big issues facing the New York City school system and how the Education Department is preparing for the future.
