Jon Stewart: It’s the Pierogies

November 10, 2011 11:30 AM

For me, New York is all about going to restaurants. You know, low down restaurants like Veselka. Why Veselka? It’s the pierogies. Anything wrapped in pierogi flour, that’s what I go for.

Fried pierogies at Veselka, a 24-hour restaurant that's been serving up Ukranian food like pierogies, borscht and grilled kielbasa in the East Village for 57 years. Veselka will soon open a second location on the Bowery. Flickr/roboppy
