I love the outdoor concert series produced by the River to River Festival at Castle Clinton, one of the oldest buildings in lower Manhattan. This weekend, on July 14 at 7 p.m., Patti Smith and Her Band will play a free show. There’s nothing like hearing great music under the stars, sipping some fine wine, and enjoying one of New York’s finest historical landmarks.

Michael Dorf is the founder and CEO of City Winery. He created the Knitting Factory in 1986, and Tribeca Hebrew, an after-school program for Jewish children, in 2004.
