Step back a century in time on Jul. 14 for the penultimate event of Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing series. On this old-fashioned, jazz-themed night of swing dancing, the Hot Sardines will play what their website calls “hot jazz, dixieland and gutbucket blues” for a Bastille Day celebration. The night will also feature a costume contest with a prize for the best flapper or French-inspired costume. The evening will begin with a Lindy Hip-Hop and Electro Coast Swing dance lesson from Angela Harriel. As an added bonus, authentic Po’ Boy sandwiches will be sold for under $10.
