Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs have popped up all over the region in recent decades. The CSA model allows consumers to buy a share, or membership, in a local farmers’ harvest directly from the farmer. The consumer then picks up produce and other goods grown by the farmer — usually presented in a box or bag — on specific dates at the conveniently located CSA site.

CSA locations operate on unique schedules, so if your nearest CSA is no longer offering shares this summer you can try other options.
