A One Ship Fleet
The
phrase "A One Ship Fleet" was originally applied to the Brooklyn class
light cruiser, USS Boise, when she came to the United States for repairs
after an epic battle in WWII.
The phrase can also be lent to the successor of her namesake, the only other vessel to carry the
name of Idaho's capital city, LA class "fast attack" submarine USS
Boise. With her impressive firepower, incredible endurance, and ability to participate in nearly every facet of naval warfare, the submarine BOISE is well-equipped to continue the tradition of defending the country and her people.
Capable of travelling at high speeds without being detected and armed with tomahawk missiles and torpedoes, this ship is in the Navy's most prolific class of nuclear-powered attack submarines. Their mission is to hunt down and destroy enemy surface ships and submarines.
