No Escaping Houdini Premieres December 9 on THIRTEEN

December 3rd, 2010

The magic of Harry Houdini comes to THIRTEEN next Thursday with the premiere of No Escaping Houdini.

Hosted by Dateline NBC correspondent Edie Magnus and featuring interviews with magicians Penn & Teller and David Blaine, the documentary revisits Houdini’s life, beginning with his roots as a Jewish immigrant.  It also explores his many death-defying feats and popularity with audiences around the world.

No Escaping Houdini coincides with The Jewish Museum’s current exhibit, Houdini: Art and Magic, which examines how Houdini’s role as an American icon was transformed across three centuries.

David Blaine and Penn & Teller were on hand for the opening of the exhibit, and revealed first-hand secrets of Houdini’s escapes.  Enter THIRTEEN and the Jewish Museum’s Houdini Giveaway, and check out photos of the event below.

No Escaping Houdini airs December 9 at 8 p.m. on THIRTEEN.
