What Do You Think? 9/11 Mastermind Trial in New York
BY Staff
Monday, November 16th, 2009

Attorney General Eric Holder announced on Friday, November 13th that the federal government would prosecute Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the “mastermind” of the September 11 attacks, in a Manhattan courtroom. The decision has ignited a flurry of controversy here in the city. Both former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani and Gov. David Paterson have come out against the Obama administration’s plan in the past few days. Guiliani objects to a civilian trial of Mohammed; at an event in East Harlem today, Paterson said that “having those terrorists tried so close to the attack is going to be an encumbrance on all New Yorkers.”

So what do you think?

Do you think that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the 'mastermind' of the 9/11 attacks, should be tried in a civilian court in Manhattan?

this is a red herring issue to confuse the real issues of neocons vs consensus. We are capable of have a trial of this type in NYC.

  2. David F. Segal says:

This criminal should indeed be tried, but NOT in our city.

Terrorist attacks are so easily performed by very few people and this event is going to draw every extremist nut case in the world to our subways and streets.

If soldiers are not even safe in army bases, how are we to be shielded and protected in our great city?

    New York has suffered enough.

    The world has suffered enough.

Have this trial in a place where the fewest individual are in danger of being harmed.

There must be NO more headlines about terrorist killings in New York ever again!

  3. Marilyn Schneider says:

The 9/11 attachs were against our nation, not just New York. He should be tried in our nation’s military court.(AND SENTENCED TO DEATH!!)

  4. Bruce Hildebrandt says:

The fear mongering has to stop! We have tried this scum before in NY courts and we will be successful this time. We are a divided country now of pro-active politicians and citizens and unfortunately the other half is anti-action obstructionists. We say yes, they say no. Enough is enough. I vote for being strong like America used to be and which represented a nation of law and freedom.

  5. Donna Rosen says:

He doesn’t deserve the rights that our citizens are
accorded. And how much will it cost us? What about the rights of three thousand innocent people who were murdered?
