Thirteen blogger: Neal Shapiro, President

It’s a very busy day here at Channel 13. We decided to put together a half hour program on the revelations about Governor Spitzer’s involvement in a prostitution ring. In the news business we call this “crashing,” and believe me, we’re crashing away this evening!

We’re going to find the best interviews in the city as well as in Albany and in other places.

If you have any questions or something you want to discuss, leave it for me here. Otherwise, I hope to see you tonight at 10!

Well done, Thirteen! You preempted a great, well-promoted Jimi Hendrix performance program with shoddy ‘coverage’ moderated by tired hacks no one else wanted of a news event that was perfectly well-handled by the better-prepared 3 national cable news networks, 2 local cable news networks and 6 local news broadcasts (not even to mention radio) and you didn’t tell anybody about it other than on this blog that no one except Mr. Shapiro’s family reads (what’s your website or email list for?) mere hours before it was supposed to air. Local news is not why people watch Thirteen. This kind of sub par grasping at public affairs relevance turns us loyal viewers off!

I did not watch this nor would I ever watch such trash. Ch. 13 has hit rock bottom to misjudge its audience to such an extent of idle curiosity and just plain trash.
