The partnership with Montefiore Medical Center helps Thirteen build on its tradition of supporting communities in the tri-state area by providing information and support on family health issues. KEEPING KIDS HEALTHY represents the latest effort by Thirteen to help improve health education for viewers. Other community outreach shows include Thirteen's Women's Health series and upcoming specials on diabetes and senior care.

The Children's Hospital at Montefiore is a brand-new concept in child health care that opened in November 2001. It has been created within the framework of family-centered care, providing excellent medical care for children and offering the opportunity for children and families to explore new learning horizons through its unique Discovery Program.

KEEPING KIDS HEALTHY explores issues from ear infections to adolescent confidentiality, nutrition, anorexia, child safety, immunizations, doctor-patient relationships, and many more issues faced every day by parents. The goal is to provide practical healthcare information and education to caregivers throughout New York and the region.

KEEPING KIDS HEALTHY airs Fridays at 2:30 pm and Saturdays at 6:30 am on Thirteen. The series premiered on Friday, May 10, 2002.
