Experience contemporary art not via a tour of a gallery or museum, but by seeing how artists conceptualize and create their works first hand. For its second season, ART:21 takes viewers into the studios, homes, and communities of 16 visual artists working in different mediums throughout the United States. John Waters hosts the first episode, which examines the element of storytelling in the works of four artists. Subsequent episodes explore such themes as loss and desire, time, and humor.
