Thirteen seeks an attorney to join its Legal Department. Responsibilities will include: (1) negotiating and drafting agreements concerning various aspects of Thirteen's business, including the acquisition, co-production and distribution of public television programs and related products and (2) counseling in-house clients (including producers, sales and marketing directors, business units and Senior Management) with respect to FCC regulations/communications law, copyright and trademark, employment law, corporate & non-profit law and other general matters.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a JD, and they must have been admitted to the NY Bar. They must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in deal structuring, : negotiating and drafting contracts; one or more of the following skill sets: knowledge of communications law/FCC regulations and procedures; knowledge of copyright/trademark and non-profit law. They must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, research and organizational skills.
