Intern
The department of Corporate & Educational Development is responsible for raising about $5 million a year from companies and foundations throughout the tri-state area for general support and educational initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assist with day-to-day maintenance of databases and files (30%). Assist with the creation of the latest edition of Thirteen in the News, a compilation of press clips from the station's 2005-06 broadcast season created for the station's Corporate Members (25%). Research corporate and foundation prospects (15%). Assist with routine donor mailings (15%). Other administrative work as needed (15%).

Skills:
The department of Corporate & Educational Development is seeking an organized and detail-oriented team player, preferably a college junior, senior, or graduate student. Must have good oral and written communication skills, strong computer knowledge (including Microsoft Word and Internet research; database experience a plus), a pleasant manner, and the ability to work in a professional atmosphere. Prior administrative experience is a plus.

Opportunity Profile:
This internship provides an excellent introduction to the day-to-day operations of one of New York's most successful corporate fundraising departments. The intern will have the opportunity to develop and gain experience using fundraising software developed specifically for public television. The intern will also have the opportunity to work on a unique public relations project that will be mailed to companies all over the New York metropolitan area.

Applicants accepted throughout the year. Must be able to commit to 15 hours per week.
