Can television save the earth?

At Thirteen we think it can certainly help. After all, fostering appreciation of nature is half the battle. For 20 years, Thirteen's NATURE series
NATURE Web site
has been bringing viewers into close contact with the wonders of the natural world. Sure, there are other wildlife shows. But NATURE not only pioneered the genre, it continues to set the standard. That must be why NATURE is the only television series ever to be honored by the Sierra Club. And with the resources of Thirteen and PBS behind it, NATURE goes even further, inviting viewers to expand their explorations via the NATURE Web site. Free teacher's guides transform the series into exciting classroom experiences. Meanwhile, Thirteen's Wild TV gets young people excited about the natural world, while What's Up in the Environment?, an innovative outreach project, gets kids involved in key environmental issues. We suppose you could say that raising awareness about what's precious is just part of Thirteen's nature.
