Security for Israel and Obama’s Words of Hope

Five years ago, President Bush held landmark meetings with the Israeli and Palestinian prime ministers, hoping to advance a Middle East peace plan. But, today there is still growing uncertainty over Israel’s future as Bush meets with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert for talks over Iran’s nuclear drive. Meanwhile, Barack Obama used his first speech as the presumptive Democratic nominee as a pledge to back Israel against terror threats from Iran, telling the U.S. lobbying group for Israel, AIPAC, that he would do everything in his power to prevent Iran from gaining nuclear capability, according to the Times Online.
