Tony, you started at Ovonic as an intern five years ago during college. Can you talk a little about your experience, what you got out of it, and how it influenced you?

My experience as an intern was very important and very
helpful, both as a student and as an engineer. As a student, my internship
experience gave me the chance to put to use the different subjects I had been
learning. I'm sure that everyone has said, "When am I ever going to need
this?" Well, as an intern, I was actually able to apply principles,
formulas, and problem-solving techniques to real-world engineering problems.
As an engineer, my internship experience made me a part of a team. Working
together to find solutions to problems is very critical to the success of any
project. Different people have different approaches to solving problems, and
the most reasonable solution to a problem often comes from putting together
the pieces of these different approaches.
Most importantly, as an intern I gained valuable exposure to all the different
levels of responsibility in this company. This helped guide me, and helped me
to feel comfortable knowing that the field I was studying was going to be the
foundation for a career that I would enjoy doing all my life.
