For bookmarks in the TIMELINE, VIDEO and ATLAS sections, the default refers specifically to the content you are bookmarking. However, for the INDEX, HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS and MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS, the default is more general -- either Index, Historical Document or Topic Screen is displayed. You will probably want to rename these screens. Choose a name for each bookmark that is meaningful to you and your students.
