The Day of the Dead is a Mexican Cultural Celebration in the Fall. On this day, people would celebrate the departure of their relatives and ancestors with festivities and fun. The Day of the Dead is when the families are reunited with those that has passed away.

Families would celebrate the day with food, music, decorations, as well as a display of the dear departure's favorite things that they enjoyed to make the reunion more comfortable and warm. Interestingly, the Day of the Dead has both Christian and Aztec roots. On that day, families would still attend church. However, the idea of the return of the dearly departed is strongly grounded in Aztec traditions.

We have created altars in our classrooms to join the Mexican's celebration of the Day of the Dead!
