A.S.A. B.O.L.D. - HEROES & LEADERS PROJECT

A hero is someone who accomplishes something good. Someone who puts their life on the line. I feel that to be a hero is to look out for people. One of the things I could do is fight for freedom, also by helping if people are trouble. I feel everyday heroes are firemen, police officers, the mayor, and the president.

I don't feel I want to be a hero because I don't think I could save somebody. I don't want that much attention from other people. I feel other people like presidents and athletes are heroes because athletes donate money to people who need the money. Presidents are also heroes because they make sure that the country is safe and clean. They go to other states to see if they are safe and clean. Presidents also control everything in the United States so that we are safe.

Heroes

A man of distinguished valor or enterprise in danger, or fortitude in suffering; a prominent or central personage in any remarkable action or event; hence, a great or illustrious person. That was one from the dictionary but I really think that a hero is a person that contributed something or sacrificed something for someone or something; I also think that it is who has great mental and physical strength. I also think that a hero is a person with a high education, good characteristic, leadership, and some sort of life skills. A hero should volunteer at some sort of recreational center with children. For example I think doctor, policemen, firemen, my cousins, and myself is my hero.

My Father is My Hero

I think that a hero is a person that helps out and they can save your life. They help you in things that you need and show you how to respect other people. My father is a hero to me. If I have a problem my father is the only one that helps me, and my father shows me how to defend my self and respect other people. I think that my father is a hero to me because he was the one that gave me my life; and he was the one that taught me that school is good for me and that school can help me get a better job.

I think that my father is a hero because he saved my brother. My brother almost died. He was choking on a mint. My father took him and tapped him on his back. My brother is only one year old.

In mythology and legend, a hero is a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods (I got this definition from the Magic Jellybean Dictionary).

This is another one of my heroes.

Roberto Clemente

My definition of a hero is a person who helps out or be a role model for someone. A person should be brave, smart, and kind to other people. An person that is notice it could be your parents, family, friends, athlete, role model, fireman, police, president, mayor, governor, and teacher. I think I could be an hero because I am an great Baseball player for my team and a lot of my teammates really prefer me as an great player for the team. A way I think am not a hero is I can't save nobody's life so far. Another way a person could a hero is someone who put his or her life on the line. My hero is a baseball player Roberto clemte the way he is my hero is by he was a good baseball player he died by a plane crash taking boxes to his country. Roberto Clemente was a great baseball player from the pirates. From my OLS league they got a trophy of his name because a kind of person he is. The trophy stands for an player who don't argue and give there hardest and also cheers up there team.

I hope I can be a hero one day.

The King

This person that I'm going to tell you about is very famous and a good man. He is a hero and his name is Martin Luther King JR. He wanted whites and blacks to have equal opportunities. Back then there was a lot of racism. Blacks couldn't drink from the same water fountain or even get a good education like the whites. But MLKJR didn't believe in solving conflicts with violence. There was a very racist group called the KKK that would kill a black person or burn the black peoples church down. Lots of black people went to jail because of illegal protests or just because of their beliefs.

If there were too many people on the bus and a white got on the bus, blacks would have to stand up or get off. MLKJR did something that was hard but he kept on and he accomplished it. He was assassinated but he did what he wanted to do. Now whites and blacks have the same opportunities in America.

Does fame make a hero? No, because a hero is not rewarded all the time for all they have done. This is why a hero does not have fame.

I am my own hero. I have become a helping person. Being a helping person takes a lot of risk. Why? Because there is a good and bad to everything. You may do something to help a friend but hurt yourself at the same time.

Ryu; King of Street Fighters. Loyal and pure hearted, he goes around the world to train himself to find the man who killed his master. He wants to have fun and to be the best at what he can be. Ryu helps others. Vegeta on the other hand, the prince of all Sayins, is stubborn, rude, enemy "or" ally, and a hero but not a perfect one. He's made mistakes. He hates everyone but himself. He fights a lot. He trains to get strong. He does help when he wants to but he is a known betrayer.

I got this definition from the magic jellybean (on-line) dictionary.

Some heroes are in comic books or picture books. Heroes are brave, supportive, and helpful. Some sports players are leaders because they lead little kids to become what they want and have a good life. The president or mayor is a leader or a hero because they can call somebody like the navy to come and help the United States.

Hero

A hero is a person who is a role model. A hero is a person that saves peoples lives. A hero to me is a person that helps others and risks his life for people he doesn't even know. I think Moses is a hero because he protects us from enemies. Moses is a marine and he works at the Boys' Club where I go. He defends us from Osama Bin Laden and his suicide bombers. He is a marine and he is trained to fight. He is ready to fight anyone that threatens the country.

This is about how the marines protect our country.

Hero

A hero to me is someone who is willing to help anyone who needs help. They will put their life in danger so they could help someone else. A hero is anyone who makes a commitment and carries it out. A hero is also anyone who is hardworking and responsible. A hero could be anybody such as a firefighter, a policeman, a baseball player, or even an actor. A hero could be a firefighter because just like on September 11, 2001 a lot of firefighters put their lives in danger so they could help other people. That was their job so they made a commitment and carried it out.

The firefighters were very brave, hardworking, and responsible.

True Heroes

I think of a hero as a person who is a savior to other people. A hero is a person who will help someone even if they lose their lives in the process. A hero can be any ordinary person. A hero can be a stranger to someone, but they are still a hero. A hero doesn't have to have super powers to be a hero.

Some heroes to me are the firemen who helped save people during the tragedy of 9/11. They are heroes because they went into the building while it was on fire and risked their lives to save people they did not know. They did not have to do this but they did and that is why they are true heroes.

Heroes are brave people and I wish I can be a hero some day.

HERO

What is a HERO? A Hero is someone you look up to. Someone you love. Someone who is always there when you need Him or Her, not when you want.
Example: Your dad, fire fighters, police, etc...

A hero is someone who is brave, smart, and never gives up on you. When you hear the word "hero" you think of super-man, batman, spider-man, or super woman. Those are called super-heroes. Super-heroes fly and have special powers.

Real heroes are not like that. Real heroes risk their lives for other people. Like on 9/11. The fire fighters went in the 105-floor tower to save other peoples lives. The building fell with over 1000 people in it, and 100 firefighters. I think this happened in one tower. Some of the firefighters made it with a lot of people alive, dozens and dozens of firefighters were found in the weeks that followed. That's what a hero does.

I feel that if there were no heroes, there would be no world.

Army Hero

A hero is a role model. A hero is somebody you look up to. A hero is somebody that accomplishes something, someone who has the strength to carry on, people that are known for feats of courage.

For example, the army is made of heroes. Army heroes are people that fight wars for us. Soldiers in the army put their lives on the line for us so that we can be free. Army soldiers are heroes because they show courage.

People should look up to heroes because they have the courage to suffer through great pain.

My Heroes

A hero is a person who risks his life to save someone else. A hero is also a leader or a role model. Someone who is a role model to me is any athlete because I like playing sports and they are role models in that area. Anybody can be called a hero but what makes a hero is what they do. I want to be a hero when I grow up because people look up to you. That makes you feel like you made a change in someone's life. Not everyone gets to do that because they are gone already. You don't need to be born a hero. But you could change as you grow up like I'm going to do.
