The following overview will help you complete your project. Print this page and continue with the lesson.

1. Using the Storyboard Activity Sheet as a guide, create the elements for each slide and save it into your group's folder. Use the Kid Pix program to draw images, type text descriptions, and import graphics and animations for your slides. Name each slide with the slide show title, and number them in consecutive order (for example, LasVegas1, LasVegas2). This will help you to stay organized when creating the slide show.

2. From the Kid Pix picker screen, open the Slide Show feature.

3. The Slide Show screen contains many moving van images. Each van is "ready to load" the image, transition, and sound that will make up your slide show.

4. Go to the first moving van and click on the picture frame icon (the icon on the left) and navigate to the picture that will be your first slide show image.

5. Continue this process until all images have been selected. Each moving van should contain its own image and should be in the correct linear order. Check against your storyboard.

6. You may add sound to each slide by clicking on the moving van's musical note icon. (See Image #3.)

7. On the Pick a Sound! screen you can add existing sounds. If you wish to add your own sounds or dialogue, click on the microphone icon.

8. To create a transition between each slide, click on the transition icon. (See Image #3.) Highlight a transition from the Pick a Transition! screen, and click the Select button.

9. When you are finished adding sounds and transitions, watch your slide show by pressing the play button -- an arrow icon -- located at the bottom of the SlideShow screen. (See Image #2.)

10. Go to the File pull-down menu to save your slide show. You have three choices for saving your slide show.

A. Select Save a SlideShow to create a slide show file that you can open and edit in Kid Pix.

B. Select Save as QuickTime (Mac) or Save an AVI (Windows) to save your slide show as a digital movie file.

C. Select Save as StandAlone to save your slide show as a self-running application; this option will allow you to play your slide show on a computer that doesn't have Kid Pix.
