Assignment Sheet
Your assignment is to design and conduct an experiment on some aspect of the states of matter and create a HyperStudio presentation that documents your findings. You must support your findings with research. For instance, if you choose to test whether corn oil, water, and vinegar evaporate at different rates, you must explain why they do or do not. You must also illustrate what happens on a molecular level when a liquid evaporates. 1. Designing your Experiment- Follow the scientific method to design an experiment. 1. Storyboard- A storyboard serves as a blueprint for the framework of the stack. The storyboard provides a workspace where your team can plan the structure of stack as well as the images and text for each card. Use the storyboard to plan the flow of the stack and choose images and text for each card. Each box on the storyboard represents a card. Sketch the image in the box and write the content to appear on the computer screen under each box (on the lines provided). This must be completed and checked by your teacher before you can move on to the next step. 2. HyperStudio Stack- Your stack should consist of a minimum of five cards. Each stack should contain text, images, and sound. Animation is optional. When working on your stack make sure you check for the following: A title card.
A table of contents.
A minimum of five cards per stack.
Navigational buttons leading to the correct card.
A Reference Card listing at least two sources.
Clear and readable text.
Correct spelling and punctuation.
Purposeful cards that point to the content.
Graphics and animations that support content, not override it.
3. Final Presentation- You will present your finished project to the class in the form of a multimedia presentation. Make sure you do a final run through before you present your project to the class. Be prepared to answer questions from your audience about your subject. |
