After you have answered the questions from the Research Guide, think of creative ways to present this information in your newsletter. You might want to make a true/false quiz, create a myth/fact piece, write a science article, or write a persuasive argument against alcohol consumption. If you or a classmate has experience as a volunteer or belongs to a group outside of school, write a short piece about it.

One person in your group is the Editor of your group's newsletter. The Editor will decide how each person on the newsletter "staff" will contribute to the newsletter.

When everyone has completed their assignment, you can begin to make the newsletter. Another person in the group will be the Production Director. The Production Director will direct the layout of your group's articles and images. You should make a mock-up on paper before you start to make the final version.

  • A title
  • A masthead (The section at the front of a publication that tells readers the publication and ownership details.)
  • Table of contents
  • Edited articles
  • Strong headlines
  • Images, if you want to incorporate them, with captions
