ARIS Parent Link

ARIS Parent Link is a powerful tool that allows parents to see their child’s academic performance from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. ARIS Parent Link is divided into three areas, Home, Student Profile and My Account. Under Home, there are four tabs, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Under each one of these tabs parents will find, what their child is learning, the New York State Standards for each subject, and the Great Expectations Guides for the grade level the child is in. This page also contains links to the school’s Progress Report, the Quality Review, and the School Survey that parents fill out every year. The second area is the Student Profile, which displays student biographical information, contact information, attendance and test scores. In the Student Profile there’s also information on the language spoken at home and whether the child is an English language learner or not. Also displayed in this area is information on whether the child has an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan) or a 504 Accommodation Plan. The third area is My Account, which gives parents the option of changing their password and updating their email account. If parents lose their password, they can reset it themselves by clicking on password help on the main screen and entering their email address and their child’s student ID number or they can contact their school’s Parent Coordinator to have their password reset.

ARIS is a very useful tool for both parents and educators. It provides educators with a snapshot of the student. Just by looking at the Student Profile educators can see how a child is performing, the support system he or she needs and whether or not the child is making progress. By having instant access to the student’s data, including LEP (limited English proficiency) status, test scores, grade codes, home language, meal codes, etc. we gain knowledge of the child’s and parent’s needs and are able to support the family more effectively by taking all of these factors into consideration.

Parents have instant access to their child’s information, and if they find any inaccurate information they have the ability to contact the Pupil Secretary at their school to update information faster than ever. Parent Coordinators are providing training at their schools to make sure that all parents know how to log on and use ARIS Parent Link to keep track of their child’s academic progress and attendance. Along with other powerful tools like Acuity, parents are now able to have their child’s information at their fingertips which allows them to be informed and to support their child’s education more than ever.
