"Letters from Around the Country..."
By: Carlos and Jesse
These apples were sent from Sykes Elementary School in Jackson, Mississippi.
This is one of the best apples.

This bag was full of the stuff above and
was sent with the blue letter above
from Penn Elementry School in
North Liberty, Iowa. This was a
good idea to help children connect,
feel
proud, and feel better.

This flag and bracelet came from Isabel Bills Elementary school in Colstrip, Montana. When we contacted them for permission to publish their gift, they sent us a link to their website!

This is another card we received all
the way from Washington.
The blue and the red papers are the front
of the book and the heart of the kids is
the back of the book. This notebook was
sent from Eastside Elementary school in Bellevue, Washington.

Student Interview : MR, Class 4-201

MR and his class received letters from kids in Iowa.
The letters included pictures of their new pen pals. MR's pen pal wrote about the Twin Towers
and what happened. MR thought it was important for New York kids to connect with kids from
around the country because we need to learn about our country. MR said that the best part
about receiving the letters was that it showed that kids cared about the Twin Towers.

Student Interview: JD, Class 5-330

JD and his class received letters from kids in Texas. The letters included pictures of their pen pals.
The things discussed in his letter were about his life, and what he likes to do. JD's class received
a second letter. JD thoughtit was important for kids from around the country to connect with kids
from New York because they have to express their feelings. JD says that the best part about
receiving the letter was the way they shared their life.
