Activity Sheet 1: The Human Circuit
- A flashlight battery is a chemical cell, which is composed of two unlike materials (metals) separated by a conducting solution. A simple 1.0-volt cell can be made from a lime and two nails. Place the nails in the lime about one centimeter apart. Put your tongue across both nails. What did you sense?
- Make a sketch (below) showing the complete path along which the "current electricity" flows from the lime through your tongue. Your sketch must show a complete path from one terminal of the lime to the other terminal. The road map for electricity you have just sketched is called a "circuit."
