In The Internet in Action, Libby Manning and her students use a variety of software programs, as well as the Internet, throughout their multifaceted, interdisciplinary social studies project on the Revolutionary War Era.

The project spans many content areas and meets many state and National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Libby's grade. But what is really special about this project is the way Libby weaves the various elements together. As Libby says, "The root of a multidisciplinary unit, or an inquiry based unit, is that the students are able to see connections throughout the curriculum."
