Carol Gentry is the WSIU Teacher of the Year.

Carol Gentry teaches third grade at Jefferson School in Johnston City, Illinois. She is also the building Technology Coordinator.

Carol is an active member of ICE-SI (Illinois Computing Educators of Southern Illinois), serving as the 2000-2001Chapter President. She presented at the Franklin/Williamson Regional Office of Education #21 Technology Showcase at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in March 2001. She has conducted many trainings for her school district and has been a Lightspan mentor through the Blazing Learning Trails Technology Innovation Challenge Grant.

Carol received her BS in Education with a minor in Psychology at Illinois State University at Normal. She has eighteen years teaching experience.
