Karen Moody is the Nashville Public Television Teacher of the Year.
Karen Moody received her B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education and her M.A. in Education with an emphasis in reading from George Peabody College for Teachers of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She has completed additional graduate level courses at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Tennessee State University. She has endorsements in the areas of Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading Specialist K-8, and Speech/Language and Hearing K-12, and Educable Mentally Retarded K-12.
Karen is currently teaching in a self-contained, third grade classroom at Westmeade Elementary. She has been teaching since 1974 and has worked with students in K-12. She has taught heterogeneously grouped students, as well as language-learning disabled students, gifted, and other special needs students.
