A.J. Longware is the Mountain Lake Public Television Teacher of the Year.
Mountain Lake PBS is pleased to announce that A.J. Longware, who teaches seventh and eighth grade Introduction to Technology and High School Design and Drawing at AuSable Valley Central School has been selected as the National Teacher Training Institute (NTTI) Teacher of the Year for the 2000-2001 school year. In addition to a certificate and the recognition afforded her, she has also been awarded a $1000 prize.
After reviewing feedback from conference evaluations, post evaluations and administrator letters of support it was apparent that A.J. Longware was the outstanding choice for the NTTI Teacher of the Year Award for 2001.
A. J. has been involved with NTTI for the last 5 years. She has grown with teaching tools presented through NTTI training and has shared what she has learned with teaching colleagues at the conference and in her staff development seminars at AVCS. A.J. has developed learning projects that excite students to become involved in their community as well as their school.
