Kenneth Cole is a KERA Teacher of the Year.
The Secondary Teacher of the Year, Kenneth Cole, is a mathematics and technology teacher from McKinney High School North. A native of McKinney, Mr. Cole has taught mathematics for 22 years and technology for the last three years.
Responsible for facilitating the integration of technology into the mathematics curriculum, as well as teaching advanced technology classes at Faubion Middle School in McKinney, Mr. Cole has become a leader in his district. This year, Mr. Cole is teaching web design and an online mathematics course that he developed entitled "Measuring the Earth." He is also developing an online high school course for McKinney ISD.
Mr. Cole won the 1999 Teacher Created Materials Award from the Texas Computer Educators Association for his work on the Noon Shadow Observation Project.
