Editing Checklist
1st Draft
- Are the thoughts presented clearly?
- Are the main ideas supported with relevant facts?
- Is the research question sufficiently answered?
2nd Draft
- Are all words spelled correctly?
- Does each sentence state a complete thought?
- Are there any run-on sentences or sentence fragments?
- Is each paragraph properly indented?
- Does each sentence begin with a capital letter?
- Are all proper nouns (names, titles…) capitalized?
- Does each sentence end with the correct end mark?
- Were commas, apostrophes and quotation marks used correctly?
- Are sentences arranged in a logical order?
- Are resources cited correctly?
