GOING
PLACES

The second season of the PBS series GOING PLACES
premiered on Monday, May 11, 1998. The eight part travel series is "the best way
to see new places through the eyes of real people." wNetStation's Web companion
piece to the series features interactive maps; electronic postcards; interviews
with the everyday travelers seen in the series; original articles; an "Ask The
Expert" forum; and more. wNetSchool brings you original lesson plans and reviews
of selected sites, to help you use GOING PLACES in your classroom.

Virtual
Cities: A Multimedia Tour, Grades 5 - 8.
Using wNetStation's GOING
PLACES Web companion piece as a springboard, students will study a city of their
choice and, using software with a multimedia slide show feature, will create a
virtual tour of that city.
Selected Sites
GlobaLearn,
Grades 5 - 12.
This site takes students and their teachers on worldwide

investigate the geography and culture of the various stops along their route.
