After conducting Internet research about elephants, students will create original stories, poems, and illustrations that will be submitted to several Web sites dedicated to elephants.

Students will be able to:

  • Navigate the Web to view stories, illustrations, and interactive activities related to elephants.

  • Work in pairs to create original stories and illustrations using available word processing software, traditional drawing tools, scanners, and graphics software.

  • Submit finished work to several established Web sites about elephants.

    How the Internet is used:
    The Internet is used to research elephants, see examples of elephant stories written by both students and professional writers, and find images to serve as sources for original creative work. The Internet will be used as a means of communication as students submit their finished work to several Web sites.
